I’ve always heard Mike Pyle was unbeatable in the gym. I’ve never really heard specific stories. Got any?

I've heard the same in the past, but cant really add anything more to it.   They used to say that Pat Cummins was also unstoppable,  too.

I've heard the same.

It seems that the gym warrior with the most powerful anecdotes is Liborio.

We saw some "kid" with Randy Couture at the TUF gym back in 2005 when Forrest fought Bonnar (lots of amazing people were there training as well), but we saw this "kid" doing very well...it was Pyle who looked to be like 18, but he was already in his 30s.

I trained with him some back when he was a blue and purple belt in Tennessee. He was always a great guy and loved to roll. I never saw him try to beat up on anyone or go harder than he should, and yet he was better than everyone. All the dudes I knew that trained with him had nothing but good things to say about him. And even when he was a blue/purple belt, it was easy to see that he had a natural talent for BJJ.

He was so humble that when he got promoted to purple belt, he didn't want to wear it because he questioned whether or not he deserved it. Clearly he did, but he was just a humble guy.

Gym Warriors -

Mike Pyle has been known to be a beast in the gym.

Phil Baroni and Rick Story were known as the "green light" guy.

Hector Lombard was known as the dick.

I once saw a nervous ex UFC fighter whose career ended after running an entire fight, get tapped by flying triangle 2 seconds after the fist bump. He was a bjj blackbelt I believe.

That math does not add up.. in 2005 he is already in his 30s.

Mike Whitehead used to pound the hell out of Tim Sylvia at MFS but couldn't translate that over into pro fights.

Trained with him early 90’s at J Sect in Las Vegas.  He was a quiet baby face dude who would twist you into a pretzel.  Nice guy.

Hah, you are right about him. After a bit of google I realized it was Mac Danzig who said that about Pyle , who knows about that though .

Mike started originally training with some friends of mine. He is from around my neck of the woods. Always hear he was a nice guy, real smart and did pretty good for himself.
