Fujita did have him down and controlled...Being Cro Cop's 1st MMA fight I wonder if Fujita could have won that without the ref intervention

Mirko cracked him good with that Knee and he was bleeding alot. If the ref didn't stop it there to check the cut he would have stopped it eventually.

He obviously was a great athlete, which never hurts, but any striker who wants to get into MMA should heavily study Cro Cop's takedown defense and ground game.  He's still one of the best examples of deploying sprawl and brawl that the sport has ever seen.
