So Rob goes a full fight camp training hard as fuck, weighs in fine and finds out the night fucking before it’s a hernia.

BULLSHIT. I’m calling problems with rehydrating or knew he wouldn’t perform and pulled out.

If he actually has a hernia they knew that all along and now using that for the excuse.

We flew interstate for the fight as did so many. I feel even more for Kelvin and his camp who came all this way.

Last time I buy tickets to a Whittaker event.

Suck it up princess. A real Aussie wouldn’t throw his countryman under the bus over a few bucks. Stay in Melbourne with the rest of the snowflakes ya sook cunt.

Wow, he said up until 5 minutes before going into surgery he wanted to fight. That means for 5 minutes he gave up and didn’t wanna fight. What a bitch.

It means he left his pacifier at home and doesn’t have anything to suck on to calm his nerves.

For those of you who think this can't happen... what are your medical credentials?

This literally happened to me in austria in 2008. I was going snowboarding i had been hitting the gym daily for weeks to get my fitness up. I got off the plane went to my hotel i had food i went to bed. I woke up around 6am in agony and was rushed in to hospital for emergency surgery on a hernia i had no idea about.

It means traveling a long way to get to the fight. Flight's accommodation and everything else.

I can’t believe that this explanation was actually needed

At the beginning of the broadcast Dominic Cruz was looking down and a little skeptical when he said that the ufc doctors said there was nothing wrong with Whittaker and like a G he just went strait to surgery regardless. Her seemed to think we were not being given the entire story. I thought it was strange that Dana was giving medical reports and timelines about the fight as it was happening. Seemed like a face saving tactic for a ped test failure or kelvin’s ringworm or staph. Sounds conspiratorial so probably the bowel was the real cause, who knows. Sounds like it should have been addressed way prior. Dana said it’s been an issue leading up to the fight.

Going into emergency abdominal surgery was part of the ruse?

This is from a surgeon from Reddit. He's likely not as smart as most of you retards, but I figured it'd help.....

Bobby Knuckle's Hernia from a medical perspective (long post)

Guys, I like this subreddit and have been stalking it for some time but there has been a lot of misinformation regarding this whole hernia thing. So I decided to try and shed some light onto the situation from a medical perspective. If you stalk my post history, I'm an orthopaedic surgery specialist by trade but I've done plenty of general surgery and know at least the small details that folks are not grasping.

There are so many different hernias in the body that there are special fucking names for all of them. What the public needs to NOT get caught up in is "what type of hernia is it? (omental, internal, inguinal, indirect, direct, blah blah blah etc.)." All we need to know is two things. 1.) Is it incarcerated (e.g. we are NOT able to use our two hands as physicians to push the hernia back into place. 2.) "Is there evidence of bowel ischemia (insufficent blood flow) --> this requires CT scans of the belly to decide if there are radiographic evidence of bowel ischemia (thickened abdominal wall lines).

(There are reports of Rob's hernia being an internal hernia which means that bowel may pushed through an opening within the thin covering of the belly called the peritoneum. Think of this like when you shove a bunch of hose (your intestines) into a tiny place and turn the water on. Eventually a loop may push through an opening of the sack and get kinked))

If either of the above two conditions have occured you have a medical URGENCY OR EMERGENCY. Obviously if they watched him for a few hours it was a medical URGENCY (don't need to operate quite yet). His pain must have NOT changed so it then becomes a medical EMERGENCY, and we have to get the bowel from an at  risk position and make sure we close off the loop that his hernia happened in.

His hernia is very different from what the vast majority of everyone else has experienced. Almost everyone who has had a hernia is talking about inguinal hernias (intestines out of the nutsack or the inguinal crease). Rob's hernia was way more serious cuz there is no reliable physical treatment for this type of hernia besides surgery.

TL;DR: Rob's intestines pushed into a hole where they couldn't get out (chinese finger trap). Doctor's watched him and saw he didn't get better, so he got surgerized which likely saved his life.

I think they all knew he was not gonna fight before the actual announcement, maybe even a week or two ago. They didn't say anything because he's the biggest name on that card for aussies and with him pulling out a lot of people would have wanted refunds.

Shady as fuck, but it makes the most sense. I've had 3 hernias of varying severity, one of them got worse over the course of months. The others I lived with for years and only got them fixed because I wanted to deadlift heavy.

They're offering full refunds anyway ?

Probably why they let kelvin go on w staph

KNowing the UFC, he could have warned them about an ongoing issue, and they might've even known about it. But they might have had him continue promotion, etc to avoid blowing up the card. With all the Jones and other BS we'e seen, nothing would surprise me.

A long way = <1hr from Canberra, 1hr from Tassie, Sydney or Adelaide, 1.5hr from Brisbane, 4hrs from Perth.

Not that long in the grand scheme of things.
I've done Melb-Sydney a few times for previous UFC's.

OP just didn't get his in-flight snickers.
