Another c5+c6 here, had a pretty bad lateral whiplash a few years ago that blew it out, of course after a few years of wear and tear rom guillotines (I've got a long neck, spent most of my life as a blue belt getting choked)
As for training, there's only a few things you can do:
- Find a great drilling partner
- Avoid training w/meatheads or anyone with a significant weight advantage over you
- Don't stress about tapping in bad positions, let alone subs
- Accept that training a few times a week at 60% is better than 5x a week at 100% for one week, then not at all for a month or more.
It's fucked my game up a lot, I can't bridge to my right, can't get stacked, find it really difficult to posture inside triangles, and can't escape from armbars because I can't push back against the legs.
