Lol @ the Joe Rogan lookalike passing ScHoolboy the blunt.

I can't relate to ScHoolboy Q's music at all, but he's better than mumble rap.

I enjoy that track Man of the Year, although it probably has more to do with the Chromatics sample than his rapping.

ScHoolboy Q is not going to be a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience, far as I can tell.

His new music video has a brief parody of Elon Musk smoking weed on the JRE. See the 0:22 mark of the first video in the thread.

Vince would be a great guest for JRE. For any talk/radio show or podcast, really.

Vince Staples often impresses me with his sense of humor, intelligence, articulate nature and wit.

I still remember something he said on that Hot Ones show. He was explaining why he'd give a good restaurant rating to a grimy waffle house with bad service: "A horror movie not supposed to have good lighting."

I also remember his interview last year at Coachella where he was explaining why he's not afraid of death: His life insurance policy is so good that his mother would make more money from him being dead than him being alive, based on his current assets.

He's constantly dropping interesting thoughts like that. This is a 25-year-old reformed "gangsta" rapper who never finished high school. Some people are just gifted, and Vince Staples is one of them.

Is this the first rapper he's had on?

Havent seen, not a fan of him as an MC, but nice to see a bit of variety in the JRE guests. David Lee Roth was a good one, as was Russel Peters and Lennox Lewis.

Would like to see Roy Choi on it, David Choe back, Steve Aoki....for MMA: Tony Ferguson, the Diaz Bros together, Khabib, DC and Cain together maybe....Askren was a great one......

For the last time: ScHoolboy Q is NOT going to be a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience.

The thread title is a reference to ScHoolboy Q's new music video briefly PARODYING the JRE.

question for you hip hop heads. Do these same old recycled trap bearts that have been going strong for atleast a good 5 years ever get old to you?

Yes. Also, most hip hop heads avoid that shit. I definitely have some guilty pleasure songs when it comes to mumble trap but yeah, most think it's trash.

If you mean the typical 808 stuff with the sub bass and the ugly snare and clap sounds - Yeah,  that got old to me fast.

But I realize that I am old. I am not the audience for this music.

To be real about it, the same question could be asked of us who grew up in the 90s “golden era”: Do these same old recycled boom bap bears ever get old to us?

DJ Premier has been using the same drum sounds and rhythm patterns for 25 years - I still like those Premo beats.

He did a track with A$AP Ferg a couple years ago, it sounded like it could have come out in 1996. I thought it was the best rap song I heard in a while.

What I’m saying is everything in music is relative.

No, he has had Immortal Technique on twice, once bringing Chino XL along with him. He has also had Vinnie Paz from JMT, B-Real (Cypress Hill), Killer Mike, and Action Bronson. Those are all the ones that stick out, I may be missing some. Also, Mix Master MIke (Beastie Boys DJ) a looooong time ago.

He also had B-Real (Cypress Hill) which again was very long ago. Everlast has been on a few times, but he is playing his Blues music now.

Everlast has been doing plenty of hip hop.

He had his supergroup La Coka Nostra in 2009, reunited House of Pain in 2017, and lately he has been rapping with B-Real under the group name Warporn Industries.
