Floyd knew it would be easy work after watching Canelo struggle to beat Trout. And they made Canelo lose a couple extra pounds to make double sure.

Still Floyd was giving up significant size, youth strength. Canelo is highly skilled, strong, solid puncher. Floyd still had to be nearly perfect and he was. Flawless performance that night.

Now the Floyd that beat Gatti was still a real KO threat. He could still punish guys. By the time he fought Canelo, Floyd was almost just going through the motions (angles, feints, movement, etc). He was on point with his boxing, but not taking any risks or trying to inflict any real damage. He was in a more business type mode. Gatti was about the last fight where Floyd was trying to punish someone to prove something. Both versions were very good. I just liked the younger, lighter Floyd. He was a scary guy. Money Mayweather was safety/money first, not really trying to win anyone over or making fans, just Ppv buys.

No doubt but the Canelo that struggled with Trout was easy work for Floyd's talent, especially draining Canelo down to 152. Floyd's team did a great job with that one.

Canelo lost to Lara

I had Lara winning the first half of the fight, but Canelo took over and more importantly in the championship rounds Canelo was trying to win. The fight was too close for Lara to cruise the last few rounds. Just my opinion of course.

Also remember Floyd walked around 147-150. So when he fought guys at 130-140 they were same size. When he fought Ortiz Floyd was 148 in the ring Ortiz was 165

lord only knows what Canelo actually weighed in the ring. Outside of jmm and Judah, every fight at 147 Floyd was giving up at least 10 solid pounds in weight. Even without the brittle hands, he wasn't going to get very many knockouts at 147 and was going to have to box safety first

physically too small at that weight to impose himself physically. He's a small frame guy for welter

They are more concerned with the 4 million Instagram followers Ryan Garcia has than his skills. DAZN is getting weird at this point.

Ryan has legit power ...we still need to see him go a full hard 10-12 rounds ...IMO he still loses against any of the current champs in his division

Just saw the post fight shananagans... so Oscar is reserving Garcia vs Linares this summer at the Staples. If true I can get behind that.

Same with anything in boxing, money. Smith and Saunders both after the fight but think golden boy is likely offering fuck all to take it. Easy from the outside to say take the fight still, cos if either win then they’re made, but if they lose (which is highly likely if they fight in Vegas) then could massively impact their careers for not enough compensation.

monry rules unfortunately

Damn. I still don’t think Ryan Garcia is all that good but that was a nasty knockout. I’d like to see him fight Linares.
