British UFC star Darren Till has reportedly been arrested in Tenerife for ‘trashing a hotel room and stealing a taxi’ in Adeje. According to Spanish publication El Dia, the 26-year-old was one of five Brits arrested in Tenerife after furniture was broken in a hotel and fire extinguishers were let off. After being kicked out of the hotel, the group was then denied entry to another hotel, a taxi came to get the group, and while the driver was loading bags, Till and another person reportedly took control of the vehicle. They were stopped in La Caleta by the National Police and subsequently arrested.
It has been reported that the arrests took place on Thursday morning, but none of the other people involved have been named. Till last fought in March when he suffered the second defeat of his career, a knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal in London. That shock defeat came after an successful UFC welterweight title challenge against Tyron Woodley last year which saw the Liverpool man tap out in the second round.
Till has no fight scheduled and it is yet to be seen whether his antics in Tenerife are to affect his return to the octagon.
