Agreed with you guys. I know I got some shit a while ago for saying he doesn’t use kickboxing either. Hate to say I was right, but you can just see when someone is going to have that it factor. They are able to put everything together fluidly. He has no transitions in offense, he basically walks forward with no regards to his chin and looks to KO you.

He doesn’t set his offense up, no angles/foot work, hardly kicks, doesn’t even try to feint a take down.

Not sure what Zinkin and Co is thinking with these match ups. His chin won’t make it past 25. Doesn’t help he spars hard at AKA and Wild Card.

Pico has also fallen in love with his power, he doesn’t even try to grapple.

fallen in love with his power after like 3 fights against nobodies....stick a fork in him. might be a good wrestler but clearly has a big enough head of a lifetime of competing to think he can get away with this shit. problem is in mma there are diminishing returns when it comes to being KOd, and being KOd twice in 6 fights sucks for someone coming up expecting to make waves.

folks come into the ufc on a streak of 10+ kos in a row, roided to the gills, pedigree like a motherfucker, and they still get bindo'd and dont even make it into a championship fight. to believe your own hype at this level to fight like that shows me he will never be that guy.

"being KOd twice in 6 fights sucks "

When was his other KO?

Claude Patrick - pico can do very well but fight very poorly strategically as some people said above fell in love with his ko power and doesnt mix his skills at all. that wrestling pedigree he should be able to rag doll guys and put those hands on them on the mat where they cant counter all that well..

strategy is everything

I heard him admit this in the post fight presser about falling in love with his power, said he just wanted the KO after the knockdown and stayed in the pocket too long, knows he is only 22, needs to use his wrestling, etc...

Very composed post fight interview, you can tell he has been competing at the highest levels for a long, long time.

Very composed, even worried about Bellator having to pay large hospital bills if they give him lesser opponents. Lol I know he’s young, but that was very douchey to say after getting brutally knocked out by a mid level guy.

Still have my seat - if he starts to use wrestling (the only reason why I knew his name before mma) then I’ll be the fucking conductor of this bitch.

The Pico, Kron, McKee, Magomedsharipov, and Yair hype trains are killing it at FW.

What a division. All five of those young killers are going be in some big fights over the next few years.

Can't wait.

If Bellator brings Gaston Bolanos along slowly, or at least doesn't rush him into a high-level matchup too soon, he might jump on a hype train. He's 26, so I consider him pretty young.

(Unlike Mandel Nallo at LW, who's 29 and doesn't really seem interested in fighting very often. Too bad, because he's 7-0 with 7 finishes.)

Time to re-reboard the Pico hype train!

The kid is now training down at Jackson's. Going to be fighting on the June 14th Bellator MSG card. Pretty damn good card for Bellator. I want to see five fights on this card, that never happens with Bellator. I'll tune in for the Sonnen, MacDonald, Danis, Caldwell, and Pico fights.

http://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/26693533/prospect-pico-jacksonwink-mma

Bellator 222 Quick Card

Chael Sonnen vs. Lyoto Machida 205 lbs
Rory MacDonald vs. Neiman Gracie 170 lbs
Dillon Danis vs. Max Humphrey 175 lbs
Darrion Caldwell vs. Kyoji Horiguchi 135 lbs
Nekruz Mirkhojaev vs. Marcus Surin 155 lbs
Ricky Bandejas vs. Patrick Mix 135 lbs
Mike Kimbel vs. Sebastian Ruiz 135 lbs
Haim Gozali vs. Gustavo Wurlitzer 170 lbs

Neiman Gracie is a bad dude. Gonna expedite Rory’s retirement. Great card.

I'm also psyched for Bandejas vs. Mix, two young guys who seem to have a lot of potential.

Bandejas, of course, KO'd James Gallagher and is 11-2.

Mix is 10-0 as a pro and went 11-0 as an amateur. Tapology ranks him #1 among New York BWs and #5 among US pro BWs (the rankings are for fighters who haven't fought recently for one of the major promotions).

Thanks, I knew nothing of Mix, so many talented kids these days I can't keep up, I'll tune in for that one too.
