PARKERSBURG – A former Cedar Falls boxer and mixed martial arts fighter who has been awaiting trial for domestic violence has been charged with child porn.

A federal grand jury handed up the indictment on Wednesday charging Travis Jon Fulton, 43, recently of rural Parkersburg, with sexual exploitation of a child, possession of child porn and receipt of child porn.

The charges were unsealed Friday when Fulton made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids. He pleaded not guilty and was detained pending a further hearing.

Trial was tentatively set for April.

The charges allege Fulton attempted to entice a minor to engage in sexual conduct for the purpose taking pictures with a Canon PowerShot camera in November 2020, according to court records.

He is also accused of possessing a DataTraveler flash drive with child porn involving a child under age 12 between November 2018 and November 2020.

Court records show Fulton is currently awaiting trial for willful injury and domestic assault charges in connection with a September 2019 incident where he is accused of repeatedly punching a woman in the head and back in Waterloo and threatening to kill her if she talked to police.

The woman suffered injuries to her jaw, nose and palate and was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for treatment, records state.

“The defendant is a self-proclaimed professional fighter, with a twenty year career, and the ability to do serious bodily injury with his hands,” a police officer who investigated the case wrote in court records.

If this chick got a restraining order on him and then contacted him to see her without filing to have the restraining order lifted then she deserves a fucking beating fuck that bitch. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Our system needs to seriously revamp the punishment side of child porn, child rape, child anything. These fuckers clearly feel the risk is worth it. Maybe longer sentences for possession and life or even death for rapes and molestation would deter some of this shit.

Yes it is. About a year or so ago there was a video on YouTube. It was a i think a 7 year old Russian girl opening Christmas presents. In the comment section were tons of pedos basically saying how good she looked and that for other 'like minded' people to message them to trade pictures . It was so in the open and sick 

 

 I can't imagine how many pedos are out  there but yes, steep penalties need to be handed down

There was a boxing gym here (I say WAS cause I’m sure it’s closed down) I used to train at with my cousin. Recently, a story came out that the head boxing trainer (and owner) was being investigated for providing information to a suspect in a domestic violence case. While his house was being searched, the police found child pornography. The video contained a child performing sexual acts with a FUCKING ANIMAL. 

That was hard to even type. I have 2 small boys myself and although I only trained at the place a handful of times, it sickens me to know that I was even within 5 feet of the guy. And the last time I trained there was 2 weeks before the story came out. 

Guess who isn’t training at a boxing gym anymore...

Out of curiosity, after I saw this thread I went to google where Travis was from(I thought he was from Alaska and wanted to verify), and I noticed I didn't see any articles about this recent charge.  It's not making mma news as of yet so you got the scoop on this one.  How did you hear about this?

It's been years since I've seen him post but pretty sure miller and travis ran in the same MMA cirlces in the midwest. Monte Cox, EC, Militich fighting, etc. So I'm sure it was through a reliable grapevine.

I met and hung out with Travis a couple times in the late 90's. He seemed really cool and he had more fights than anyone even back then. I still watch his YouTube channel because I love hearing stories about the wild west days of MMA. I was thinking the guy should write a book. I've learned a thing or two about him over the years that made me lose some respect for him but goddamn, I didn't think he could be this big a piece of shit.

I've known travis since 1996. We have fought each other and we have gotten fights for each other and traveled all over the place together.  At one point I  considered him a friend. But I have not seen him since 2007. I went to federal prison for gun charges and then back for two violations.  Travis and I lost contact.  We still have a lot of mutual friends.  I saw Travis was in jail on the Mobile Patrol app. I asked around for three days and noone knew anything.  Then I came across this article this morning which kind of turned my world upside down. 

But as a man who has done time in U.S.P.s I know travis will never see a gen pop yard,not with those charges. He'll go to a pc yard like Marion or Milan with other snitches and sex offenders. 

 

As for his page. Sure, he could have someone shut it down for him. But who is going to even take his phone calls after knowing what he did. His own family are pretty hardcore and are not going to approve of any of this
