To think about his main charge is enticing a 12yr old, you can't imagine, not that it would make it any better, but I don't think you could be cordial to make her be willing to go with him anywhere, so it probably would have been via force.  Then again I do not know the details and maybe it was a friend of the family that he was going to get but, that's just one of the ultimate predators of a man capable of doing bad things going after one of the smallest defensless preys.  Hard to imagine.

I didn't see where it said he was enticing a 12 year old. Big difference between a 12 year old and a "minor". In NE you are still a "minor" at 18.

That said, taking naked pictures of 17-18 years old if they voluntarily decide to do it should not be a crime in the first place.

Most people need to learn more about our legal system. This is a federal case, not a state case. There will be no parole, time cut in half, good behavior.  The feds only arrest you when it's a sure thing. Anything on a computer becomes federal. I had a cellie that threatened Joni Ernst on Twitter and did fed time for it. There will not be a legal team. Travis will be appointed a court appointed attorney who is not looking to get him free but instead looking for the best plea bargain.  CTE will have no bearing on this case and he will not ever see a gen pop yard because of his charges he will be sent to a snitch/sex offender yard

What are we to expect from a guy with 33 boxing KO losses 11 MMA KO losses and over 400 professional fights getting his head beat in.

Our system needs to seriously revamp the punishment side of child porn, child rape, child anything. These fuckers clearly feel the risk is worth it. Maybe longer sentences for possession and life or even death for rapes and molestation would deter some of this shit.

I'm a criminal attorney in my state's Department of Justice.  I specialize in criminal appeals--generally speaking, that means most of what I do involves a bad guy getting convicted and then appealing to get a new trial.  My job is to argue they should stay in prison--I'm on the prosecution's "side."    

 

The death penalty is unconstitutional for non-death related crimes, so that's out for child sex crimes.  Also, I can promise you, we do not need longer sentences (at least in my state) for child sex crimes.  Because each act is a separate crime for which you can be separately sentenced to a consecutive term, the longest sentences I've ever seen generally involve child sex crimes.  And by that, I mean it's not unusual to see sentences running up into hundreds of years with no chance of parole.

 

If Fulton's conduct involves multiple acts--e.g., raped this kid that day, made a video, transmitted the video, arranged to traffic another kid several weeks later, made a video of that too, raped the first kid again, etc.--he will very likely die in prison.  

 

There are no doubt things we as a society could do to better identify, investigate, and prosecute child trafficking and sex crimes.  I am all for that.  That said, chances are longer sentences aren't it.

The problem is though, most of these fuckers will not be prosecuted to the full extent, will not get charged with each act separately, will not see the maximum sentence for each act, and most WILL get some form of plea deal to reduce this shit.

How do I know? Because if these sentences were so long, there wouldn't be such a long ass registered sex offender list for literally every single area.

I bought my house before I had kids. A few months after buying, a neighbor had warned us of an offender on our street. Luckily, the creep moved before I had kids, but the neighbor sent me the link to the list for our town and I was fucking blown away by how many there were. I live in a smallish town where most major news travels fast and everyone knows. There were 2 sick fucks on that list I knew from high school. One, as it turns out, had been molesting his little sister for years and then got caught. He was out. I never heard about his rape charges or his release, but I did hear about his suicide a few years later.

Call it longer sentences, or call it ENFORCING current sentences, I don't care. Either way, these people need removed from society for much much longer periods of time.

They have to be executed, studies have shown they will never stop, even after castration. If Fulton is guilty, he should be immediately shot.

I've been his friend for over 20 years. But I know how the fed system works. And he's guilty. If they chose to put a bullet in him I wouldn't lose sleep over it. It's one less predator in the world.
