Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has now lost back-to-back fights for the first time in his career. He lost is title to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 in March of 2019, and lost his comeback fight to to Gilbert Burns at UFC on ESPN 9 in May. Now Burns fights for the title in July, and Woodley is left with fans questioning whether at 38 he still has it.

However, during a recent Instagram Live, "The Chosen One" said he's all in.

“I want to fight two more times this year,” said Woodley, as transcribed by Mike Bohn for MMA Junkie. “So we are right now in June. I feel like if I can get one on the books sometime in the near future then it still leaves me with November or December to fight again. I want to fight two more times this year. I want to just really knock out some fights. I’m excited about it. I’m ready to get back in there and get after it.”

“I can’t think of anybody off the top of my head like, ‘Oh, let me fight this motherf***er. If you lose a fight you don’t be coming out of the gate like, you ain’t really in a position to call anybody out. You kind of just got to take a seat, sit down, be humble, get back on the grind, get ready to beat somebody up. But you don’t really get to call the shots like that, at least I don’t think you should. Some people do. You know you who are.”

Back up against fence. Wait for 100% perfect opportunity to throw right hand. Repeat.

Profit?

He’s a lot more likeable when he’s losing fights.

Tyron vs RDA, Tyron vs Edwards, and Tyron vs Chiesa are good fights.

I think the Edwards fight would be good for him, and still a big enough name that a win could be beneficial for Edward's too. Great matchup imo

Woodley taking a shot at Covington but he really shouldn't want that fight. He will end up losing 15 straight rounds.

As someone suggested, RDA, Chiesa sound about right. Edwards should be on to more relevant opponets.

Fuck Woodley. Nobody wants to watch someone throw a 1 right hand a round.

Prior to his last fight he said he refused to watch the tape if his loss to Usman (cause it was just feeling off that night) I hope he decides to watch that tape and the tape of his last fight.

Making him watch his last fight is a solid punishment for doing that to the rest of us

Dude is 38 and falling further and further away from title aspirations.

Looking to collect a couple of final paycheques and retiring imo

He needs help. He’s flat out in denial at this point. He said more dumb shit after the Burns fight but at least he also said Burns basically fucked him up...

For reasons unknown Tyron cant seem to be able to pull the trigger these days. Seems after he got the belt playing the safe game means more then winning. Very strange !
