For anyone wondering why Whittaker and his wife are freaking out about a spider, it's not just because it's big. They think it's an Australian funnel-web spider which are extremely venomous. in fact they are considered one of the world's most dangerous spiders.

Australia seems like a paradise... when you forget about the 100s of animal species that can kill you LOL

Yup, looks like a Sydney funnel web.

A spider whose venom is hyper toxic to humans.

If they bite you and you don't get your arse to a hospital, you're pretty much fucked.

They're aggressive little fucks too.

I actually love this meme on reddit.

THe other day I say a thread there like "Whittaker has fiery response to Adesanyas trash talk" and it was a vid of him being really nice and humble and saying congrats, lol.

Whittaker like the Keanu Reeves of MMA.

Yeah...I would definitely move...continents. If one of those got into your house, that means there's probably more nearby. FUCKING NOPE.

Yeah I was wrong it is more like second or third. But basically dead without hospital or very sick if you get to the hospital.

Those bastards are deadly. The males go wandering around looking for mates during breading season and often come in peoples home during the process. They have huge fangs that can penetrate leather shoes if they hit it right. The males are super aggressive.

the "common brown snake" in AUS is one of the deadliest in the world - venom is 2nd highest in LD50 to mice (which sometimes doesn't traslate proportially to humans), behind this guy, the often extremely dosile and errantly-named "fierce snake" - the inland taipan; oddly enough as the most venemous in the world, has no recorded human deaths on record (unlike the common brown):
