Who wins a straight up grappling match at there current weight? I think Joe walks around at a pretty lean 200lbs, not sure about Conor. I think Joe would tap him out. Your thoughts?

I'm not sure there would be a single person on here qualified to say. Wouldn't you need to have trained with each guy at least a few times to have a real opinion?

Multiple time MMA champion arguably in his prime vs martial arts hobbyist in his 50's.

My thinking also. Conor is in his prime and Joe has health health problems.

Plus Conor trains wrestling and BJJ daily at high levels.

I was listening to his podcast last night and he was talking about knee injuries in both legs. I seem to remember a few years back he had a back or neck issue. I think with all the things he does I don't think he has time to train as much or as hard as Conor does.

rogan by being bigger stronger and black belt in nogi and the gi under eddie bravo and jean jaques machado, respectively.

fingers 'n' teeth - spear is inferior to the sword.

Spear is a group fighting weapon. Its not a great cutting weapon and aside from the reach has no advantages.

once inside the range of the spear the guy is dead.

Someone with the skill of Selmy would penetrate the distance and finish fast.
Penetrate and finish fast... ha. Phone Post 3.0

When's the last time Joe stepped on the mat? How often has he trained the last 5 years?

I thought he rolls on a regular basis. I guess my point is Conor is smaller and in my opinion focuses on getting back to his feet in his grappling game vs submissions. Rogan on the other hand I bigger and has a high level submission game at a no Gi black belt level with 15 plus years experience.

No idea if Conor subs old Rogan, but he would have him on the defensive and wear him out.

Joe - and it wouldn't even be competitive

If it starts on the ground in guard? McGregor just holds on until he gets exhausted, might try to knee Joe in the noggin if Joe threatens a sub though. Gotta watch out for those sneaky fucking pikeys.

I think 2010 Rogan could beat 2010 Conor but come on OP, 2020 Conor wrecks 2020 Rogan.

Joe Rogan has never been a professional athlete. Hell, even saying he was an amateur athlete is a stretch.

This.  Strictly Grappling, Joe is levels upon levels higher than CM when it comes to bjj.  That's not even factoring in the weight and horse meat differential.

I'm surprised so many are saying Conor. He's not a great grappler by MMA standards, and we've seen many good grapplers struggle when purely grappling with a black belt in BJJ. Conor is a former world champion, but he's got 1 submission win ever. He's not a very good grappler.

You guys are crazy - Rogan would demolish him.

Give props where props are due - but has Conor ever done to make you think he'd be able to beat Rogan?

Absolute insanity. I'm assuming the guys saying Rogan have never rolled with pro MMA guys, even lower belted ones.

Conor is an elite fighter in his athletic prime. Joe talks to people for a few hours a day.

Conor taps him like a typewriter however and whenever he wants.

Conor is a good grappler. He's just not a great one.

You don't hit an x-guard sweep on Nate Diaz without having a good grappling background.

You don't escape Chad Mendes guillotine in the method that Conor did without having good grappling.

Conor has been training for over a decade with one of Europe's best BJJ coaches. He's had top level BJJ guys like Gunni and Dillon Danis to help push his BJJ.

If you watch any of the footage of him rolling, he's very smooth.

He's at black belt level. His wrestling is underrated too.

High ranked MMA fighter vs. 52 year old comedian?

Fuck this thread.
