wiggum - Y'all are acting like Woodley actually believes this.

He is trying to get a money fight. That's it.

And for Christ's sake, this. When I see what he says, I say to myself "who is dumb enough to believe he really thinks like this?"

Then I log onto the UG...

No shit, but the problem is he's not creating a beef that is grabbing people's attention. DC, Connor, Bones (as hated as he is and was), were all able to generate interest and rivalries that grabbed people's attentions and had them pushing for various fights. Even Colby Covington who seems to do a terrible job of shit talking (to me at least), has managed to piss of more people and get more eyes on him than Woodley.

I don't know what it is, but his shit talking and wolf tickets never seem to get the right response. Almost feel bad for the guy since he's insanely talented.

Come on guys, I think we all know it is a massive conspiracy to keep Tyrone down because he is black... and every single non-black fighter on the roster, every UFC executive and each and every paying fan are in on it.

Woodley is so clueless.

he went on and on about money fights, does he not get that he is not a money fight for anyone with any name value.  Gsp is obviously angling for Conor with the 155 move.

If you think GSP needs to fight someone for an angle at Conor you’re clueless.

That fight could happen now. Except Conor doesn’t want it or need GSP.

So GSP is taking the easiest fight possible in the top 10 at WW or below

If he wants to win 4 titles in 3 divisions, he has to go to lightweight. GSP has finished all his business at welterweight, and really has nothing left to do there. If there were like some unbeatable monster holding the title, then maybe there might be something there, but that's just not the case.

"Let me say this in a very educated way.."

When someone constantly talks a bout how smart they are it is usually because they are anything but.

Not to mention nothing about his response seemed educated at all.

Hands down the biggest winger in MMA history, he can pick which contender deserves to fight him, yet GSP is the biggest bitch for not fighting him when it’s clear he’s back for entertaining money fights rather than to stay on top of a division

Which contender did he pick that deserved to fight him? Thus far he's faced 2 guys who he didn't want to fight.

Well he got the belt and his first fight was against Wonderboy. Even though that one ended in a draw, he didn’t want to give the rematch and kept saying how he felt like he won the fight. Then he was forced to give the rematch and then got the decision the second time. THEN he called out GSP. After his FIRST successful defense. After that he fought Damian Maia, and then started crying that “he’s fought two specialists in a row” and wanted to pick his opponent. So then what did he do? Called out GSP who was retired at the time, and Diaz (I think Nick) who was either semi retired and/or serving a suspension.

This all happening right after possibly the most boring title fight and one of the most boring fights I’ve ever seen, where the record was broken for least amount of strikes thrown in a title match. This isn’t considering the division full of contenders at 170, which is one of the deepest divisions in MMA. So I think you guys are defending Woodley because he’s “faced two guys he didn’t wanna fight. Well that’s his job and that’s what we gets paid for. We aren’t going to sit here and give the guy a standing ovation for signing on the dotted line to fight two contenders because that’s what the expectation is. This is what everyone’s problem with Woodley:

1. He called out inactive fighters knowing there were contenders lined up in his division. This is a form of cherry picking even though he didn’t get the fight he wanted.

2. He complains about everything from race to treatment, and doesn’t seem to have much respect for people.

3. He has done nothing but put on boring fights since becoming champ, but he wants the money fights.

4. One defense into being champ and he’s already talking about legacy fights.

Now this conversation might be slightly different if we are talking about a long-reigning champ here, or one that doesn’t have any fights to challenge them. Or a champ who draws a lot of viewers. A guy like MM is a good example. But Woodley hasn’t been champ long and has defended twice against two opponents, one being a rematch. Fans like guys who defend their belts against top contenders, and even in a day where money can be more important than rankings, Woodley stands out as a guy who seemingly wants to fight who he wants to and sees fighting specialists as “favors”. Just how I feel about it.

That’s a lot of word to say he’s taken on all challengers since winning the title and signed to fight whoever the ufc wants.

So basically you’re mad because he gives his opinion when media asks him who he’d like to fight?

I’m glad GSP won’t give this sad sack the time of day. It’s especially satisfying seeing him pout like a petulant child as if GSP and Nate Diaz owe him something.

“Waaah waaah, I want a popular lightweight to come up in weight to fight me and bring his fans so I can get paid. Waaah waaah, GSP can’t go down to lightweight and bring his fans...those are MY fans and MY fight and MY payday, waaaah waaah!”

GSP is really growing on me. Having this fool as champ really makes me appreciate how non-whiney he was while on top.

He’s not wrong.

Those talking about money fight, GSP versus anyone is a money fight especially a legit champ

From the UFC perspective Tyron has put on stinker fights where he could have easily finished guys, why would they let him get the shine of the big draw.

Even if Diaz loses to GSP he will raise his stock even bigger selling an even bigger third fight with Conor. It makes business sense. It gives GSP a chance to make weight and a much safer fight than Woodley.

GSP could sell a million against almost anyone. They might be able to sell 2 million against Conor if he can fight at 155 successfully.

Who should he have easily finished? Maia? Wonderboy? Those guys are typically easy to finish?

But agree GSP vs Conor would be huge. Not sure why they just don’t do that then. Conor isn’t champ. They can do it at any weight class right now

Because they can stretch it out into a saga instead of a one off fight.

Gsp Diaz does a million, Conor Khabib does a million and a half, GSP vs Khabib does million and a half, GSP vs Conor does million and a half or more

They can get 5.5 million+ buys out of 4 LW fights over the next year and a half, if they can get

Conor does 5m buys over 4 fights with anyone.

So again, you said Woodley should “easily” finish his opponents. Who are these guys that he’s fought that get finished a lot?

Wait wasnt Woodley trying to get a fight with Nate as well??

Yep. Desperately.

Woodley likes to move the goalposts around a lot with his crying and victim mentality. Even uses unsubstantiated rumors as an excuse to claim a fighter much more accomplished than himself did a “bitch move” over a rumor that he was maybe fighting the same lightweight that he himself was calling out. Neither GSP nor Diaz said anything publicly about this fight mind you. It all started with Dana mulling over the idea in the media, nothing more. Woodley just went off half cocked with his anger and victim mindset as he often does.

The mental gymnastics he uses to move the goalposts around reminds me of some of the posters here!

“Nate Diaz 'sick of not fighting,' wants UFC champ Tyron Woodley this year”

Nate: “I’m getting to the point where I’m sick of not fighting; I’m not getting any younger,” Diaz told ESPN.com‘s Brett Okamoto on Tuesday. “I put that tweet out saying I wanted to fight in May or June, but I didn’t say who because I was weighing my options. And now, Woodley is my best option.

Nate again: "They called me out of nowhere, when I wasn't trying to fight nobody," Diaz told Brett Okamoto of ESPN.

"They asked if I would fight Woodley and I said, 'Well, I'd like a three-month camp.'

According to Nate he wanted and was approached and offered the fight. So you decide. Either Nate is a liar or the ufc offered the fight.

But yes, keep complaining that Woodley is the one begging for it.

Yeah, completely ignore Woodleys role in all that as usual! So pathetic!

where did you even get these Nate quotes? Got a source? Because I can put up plenty of sources of Woodley calling Nate “scared like his brother” and all that other bullshit, even though Woodley is physically much bigger by any metric.

Poor Tyron, they’re all out to get his punk ass.

Did you really ask for a source when “Diaz told Brett Okamoto of ESPN ” was in my post, twice?

Don’t let Woodley get you so upset sickeye....

I see you cant bring yourself to admit that Woodley was offered the fight.

Do me a favor. List all the smaller undersized fighters on Woodley’s resume.

Get some fans Woodley. Then you won’t have to pick on smaller fighters who are a great stylistic matchup for you. Coward.

You seem to be having a hard time with this. Maybe you should log off the rest of the day, as to not let Woodley ruin it for you.

Way to overreact.

Did i say that he was begging? No i said he was trying to get the fight. Since he has become champ he has been tryong to get fightd that make no sense.

The reason it doesnt mean shit if GSP fights Nate is because GSP isnt champion and he would go down to LW for the fight.

Tryon wanting it is just plain stupid. Diaz isnt a true WW and isnt close to a deserving a title shot at any division.

And didnt woodley put off surgery in hopes of getting the diaz fight?
