Gisele Bundchen shows off martial arts skills in recent video

The last supermodel Gisele Bundchen is an eager student of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but, despite unfounded speculation to the contrary, is not dating her instructor.

Brazil's Gisele Bundchen, the last supermodel, has appeared on over 1,200 magazine covers. On October 28, 2022, she and Tom Brady, arguably the greatest American football player of all time, saw their divorce finalized. The settlement agreement was likely complex - her income is twice his. Also, Bundchen is an ardent devotee of jiu-jitsu.

In a message on her social network earlier this year, Bundchen declared her appreciation for the art.

"I believe the more tools we have in our toolbox the better," she wrote. "I feel stronger, more confidence, and empowered since I started practicing self-defense. I feel it’s an important skill for all, but especially for us women. Thank you @ValenteBrothers for being awesome teachers and for making training so much fun. I am looking forward to keep improving. Let’s go!"

Valente Brothers Jiu-Jitsu in Coral Gables, Florida is a massive, 12,000-square-foot, free-standing facility constructed specifically for teaching the art. It is run by three brothers, Pedro, Gui, and Joaquim Valente.

The gym's Instagram page recently shared images, from a Dust Magazine article on Bündchen and the brothers.

In it, Bundchen detailed how her interest in jiu-jitsu began.

"I have always been a seeker and a curious person who always wants to dive deeper. It's actually because of my son that I met Joaquim," she told the magazine. "I have a friend who told me about the Valente brothers and their martial art school, and since I wanted to steer my almost teenage son in the right direction, I thought he might be interested in this."

"Initially, I wasn't even considering it for myself, to be honest with you. But, when I brought him to the first class and started talking with Joaquim, I realized that it was much more than self-defencse. I became really interested the philosophy. It felt very much in line with what I believe in and look for in my life ... It sounded like something definitely wanted to learn more about."

When Joaquim was spotted with Bundchen on a vacation in Costa Rica, there was unfounded but widespread speculation that the pair were romantically involved. However, multiple sources have said emphatically that that is not the case. The trip was in fact a group outing, totaling over a dozen in all, that included Joaquim and another instructor from Valente Bros, named Jordan. The two often travel with Gisele and her son and daughter, as the children are home-schooled.

In other words, you still have a chance!
