TOKYO – Recently, a press conference was held at the Meguro Gajoen to announce additional matchups for the Rizin Landmark 4 in Nagoya card, which takes place November 6.

The Trigger series sees a sunset and is being fully replaced by the Landmark series. Now that COVID is under control, Landmark will be held with occasional attendance and occasional non-attendance.

After the press conference commenced, it was noticed that one half of the main event – Ren Hiramoto – was not present. CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara said, "I'd wait for Mayweather, but I won't wait for Hiramoto. If he doesn't show up today, he doesn't show."

His opponent, Satoshi Yamasu, apologized, stating, "We announced our fight during Rizin 38. Hiramoto provoked me, and I responded, and he started to choke. I apologize for creating this mess, and I apologize for exposing his true character and ruining his trash talk. I truly apologize from the bottom of my heart."

Upon arriving, Hiramoto said, "I had the wrong time for today's presser."

Among the announced bouts was the return of a longtime veteran, Ikuhisa Minowa, who has now declared himself with a new name, "Minowaman Z."

"I've always expected one thing out of Minowa's fights," remarked CEO Sakakibara. "That is for him to energize the crowd. That's what I've always wanted out of 'Minowaman.'"

"Minowaman Z" responded, "Thank you, sir. I will not disappoint!"

The Landmark series has been held in the traditional ring through its first three iterations, however this event marks the first time it will be held in a cage. CEO Sakakibara explained, "Many fans wanted to see the fights in the cage. I personally like the ring better, but for Japanese fighters to challenge outside of Japan, we do believe the cage is necessary occasionally. But this will be a test case, and we'll see what happens."
