2022 PFL 5, featuring heavyweights and featherweights, updated with five new fighters

Card airs Friday on ESPN and ESPN+ from Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta.

NEW YORK – The Professional Fighters League today announced its main event and full card matchups for 2022 PFL 5, taking place on Friday at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The card will now feature six new fighters who will be joining the PFL 2022 Season, four heavyweights and two featherweights will have the chance to earn points and possibly secure a coveted playoff position.

2021 semifinalist Brendan Loughnane (22-4) will be facing Ago Huskic (8-4) after 2022 Challenger Series winner Boston Salmon was forced out due to injury. Huskic is of Bosnian decent and grew up in Iowa. He now fights out of Florida.

The heavyweight division will have three new fighters with Ali Isaev (visa issues), Jamelle Jones and Stuart Austin (injuries) all off of the card. The new heavyweights will be Maurice Greene, Juan Adams and Shelton Graves

Greene (10-6) has competed in MMA and professional kickboxing and fights out of the world renowned Jackson-Winklejohn camp in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He will face 2021 semifinalist Denis Goltsov. Greene is known in the combat sports world as “The Crochet Boss” due to his love of crocheting, a hobby he picked up early in his career.

Juan Adams (9-4), another Jackson-Winklejohn product, will square off with Sam Kei (8-5) in a matchup of first time PFL fighters. Kei was slated to fight in April but was forced out of the bout due to visa issues. He was originally slated to face Goltsov but will now take on Adams.

Graves will step in to face 2021 PFL finalist Ante Delija. Graves (9-5), like all alternate fighters, will need to secure as fast of a finish as possible to earn enough points to make the Playoffs.

2022 Challenger Series competitor Reinaldo Ekson will step in for injured German Saba Bolaghi in the featherweight division. Ekson will face 2021 semifinalist Bubba Jenkins

The second half of the 2022 PFL Season continues on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ in primetime. The final Regular Season event will take place on July 1. Tickets to see PFL live at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta are available now.

PFL is the first and only MMA league with a true sports-season format where elite fighters from around the world compete in a Regular Season, Playoffs and Championship. The four competitors in each division who earn the most points advance to the win-or-go-home playoffs, followed by the biggest night in MMA – the PFL World Championship – with each winner going home with the $1 million prize.
