Ref Mark Matheny opens MMA themed nightclub in Ohio
UFC Referee Mark Matheny has opened a new MMA themed bar/nightclub in Heath, Ohio called Submissions.
You can visit on opening day Friday May 30th, and have the chance to meet UFC competitors, Matt “The Immortal” Brown, Mark “The Hammer” Coleman, and Wes Sims Fan Page . Submissions is located 1314 Hebron Road, across from the Heath Police Department.
There is a cage around the 26-foot dance floor, a fighter’s runway from the side entrance onto the dance floor and MMA memorabilia everywhere. If your located in Ohio, be sure to visit Submissions on opening night.
“I’m kind of riding the coattails of a sport I started in Ohio,” said Matheny. “I’m going to bring different stars in and we’ll mix it up.”
Matheny operated The Lighthouse at the same location 14 years ago. He also helped build Club 2K, but sold it before it became a strip club.
He also owns Matheny Lock Shop, worked as a mobile DJ for 25 years, works as a private investigator and bounty hunter, and likes to catch rattlesnakes in West Virginia.
The club will have seating for about 250 people, including a 20-seat VIP area, with a couch, television and dance pole. Outside the building, in back, will be co-ed sand volleyball, cornhole, beer-only bar and an amateur stage for karaoke and guitar performances.
I'm not sure what cornhole is in this context.
Address for the new bar is 1314 Hebron Road, across from the Heath Police Department.
