Bellator signs lightweight prospect Max Rohskopf to multi-fight deal

The 27-year-old wrestling standout joins promotion after back-to-back wins under the Cage Warriors banner.

LOS ANGELES – Bellator MMA has announced the signing of world-class lightweight prospect Max "Rated R" Rohskopf (7-1) to an exclusive, multi-fight contract.

Rohskopf, 27, is a decorated wrestler who has leveraged his extensive grappling acumen to become a highly-touted MMA talent. He was a two-time NCAA qualifier and an ACC tournament champion during his collegiate days at North Carolina State University. He also holds the rank of purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under the legendary Robert Drysdale.

It was a blistering start to Rohskopf's professional MMA career, with the Ohio native scoring five dominant submission victories across the U.S. regional scene. He will enter the Bellator cage on the strength of two consecutive victories overseas.

The Zenith MMA-Xtreme Couture product displays an elite level of talent inside the cage, and at just 27 and with only eight professional fights to his name, Rohskopf's potential is remarkable. He joins a Bellator lightweight division that has grown in strength and depth in recent weeks with the signings of top competitors Mansour Barnaoui, Tofiq Musayev and Archie Colgan
