FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – On Thursday night at a packed Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines, Fla., Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship presented an outstanding action-packed card, which was broadcast globally on the BKFC App.
In the main event, former BKFC heavyweight world champion Joey Beltran (5-3-1) was knocked out with a tremendous right hand in the opening round by veteran "Big" Frank Tate (2-1-1). With Tate being awarded the knockout victory, time of the immediate stoppage was 0:23.
In the co-feature, making his BKFC debut from Swansea, Wales, James Lilly (5-0-1) also scored a first-round knockout of Adam Pellarano (3-2). A devastating, short right hand drilled Pellarano to the canvas with the bout being halted at the 0:40 mark when he could not continue.
Newcomer Howard Davis (1-0) scored the knockout of the night with his battering ram right hand sending Josh Wright (0-1) to the canvas with an immediate halt to the action at the end of the third round. Both Davis and Wright, fighting in the 145-pound division, had been dropped in the opening stanza.
Fighting in the 185-pound division, BKFC debuting Doug Coltrane won a unanimous decision over Eduard Concepcion of Miami by scores of 48-46, 47-46 and 47-46. Concepcion rallied from being dropped in the second and third rounds.
In the light heavyweight division, BKFC debuting Ravon Baxter was victorious in an outstanding clash with Miami's Leonel Carrera (0-1). Baxter dropped Carrera with a big right hand at the end of round two en route to a split decision by scores of 48-46, 48-46 and 46-48.
Fighting in the lightweight division, Bryan Duran (1-0) scored a second-round technical knockout of Glendale Futrell (0-1). The ringside physician stopped the fight after the second stanza when he deemed Futrell unable to continue.
Opening the main card, newcomer Juston Stills made a highly impressive debut with a dominant shutout performance against Famez (1-3). Scores were 50-45 on all three judges' cards.
