"Da'Mon Blackshear has been on an absolute tear and is considered one of the top bantamweight prospects in the country right now, while Josh Smith is an American Top Team fighter who has shown the ability to finish fights. This should be another incredible event."

Blackshear claimed the title in November, scoring an impressive first-round submission over a previously undefeated DeAndre Anderson to claim the belt that was vacated by Jared Scoggins when he signed with Bellator MMA.
