IMMAF Africa Championships air live at April 28-30

International Mixed Martial Arts Federation officials have revealed plans for the 2022 Africa Championships in Johannesburg.

LONDON – Watch the 2022 IMMAF Africa Championships live only at between April 28-30.

Hosted by Mixed Martial Arts South Africa (MMASA), in partnership with the EFC Performance Institute, the developmental continental championship will be broadcast live from EFC's studios in Johannesburg at the following times, and subsequently available on-demand:

  • Thursday, April 28, from 11 a.m. SAST (UTC+2)
  • Friday, April 29, from 11:00 SAST (UTC+2)
  • Saturday, April 30, from 11:00 SAST (UTC+2)

As IMMAF's first closed tournament on the continent, exclusively featuring African talent, participating nations are set to include: Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tunisia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The Championships will be free-to-view for audiences in African countries and available to subscribers. A Championship Pass will be available for non-subscribers from outside of Africa, providing three days of MMA action for just $4.99.

"It is exciting to be able to return to Africa and create opportunities again for MMA amateurs to compete on the IMMAF platform," IMMAF President Kerrith Brown said. "Africa has a record of providing top-ranked talent for IMMAF and is a hotbed of potential. Competition can be expected to jump up a notch with the addition of newcomer national teams, and everyone will be watching for new rising stars from Africa's grassroots."
