John Dodson promising violent BKFC debut: 'I'm coming out there looking to punish'

Dodson faces fellow UFC vet Ryan Benoit at BKFC 28 on August 27 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Former UFC flyweight title challenger John Dodson has always been known for an incredible blend of speed and power, but as he turns his attention to bareknuckle boxing, "The Magician" believes things are about to turn up a notch.

"I don't have to worry about no takedowns, no jiu-jitsu," Dodson told MMA Underground. "Nobody's throwing kicks, and they just want to throw hands – and the best part about it is I'm the dirtiest fighter that they've seen with their hands because the fact that I'm so clean going in and out. I can hit people from multiple angles, and they still don't know where I'm at.

"Now, just the fact of the matter is that they're going to be putting boxers in front of me who have their boxing styles and traditions. That's cool. I've boxed my entire life, and then mix that in with mixed martial arts. I have different angles and different perspectives that I can go ahead and mix in those high clinches and be able to punish them in different areas that they will never see coming."

Dodson makes his bareknuckle debut on Aug. 27 against fellow UFC veteran Ryan Benoit in the co-main event of BKFC 28 in Albuquerque, N.M. Check out the full interview in the video above.
