Meet Joilton Lutterbach, six-promotion MMA champion, two-sport titleholder and new BRAVE CF star

German-Brazilian veteran headlines Saturday BRAVE CF 61 event in Bonn.

Vadim Kutsyi's omission from the BRAVE CF 61 main event might have been interpreted as shock and horror at first. But his replacement is more than worthy of stepping up to the plate. In fact, the history between Germany's Marcel Grabinski (22-6) and his new – well, not so new – opponent, German-Brazilian star Joilton Lutterbach (35-10) makes for an even better story-line heading into the prestigious and historic BRAVE CF 61 event this coming Saturday.

After Belarus' Kutsyi was forced to pull out due to illness, BRAVE Combat Federation secured a multi-fight deal with Grabinski's old foe – Lutterbach. The new signing, who makes his BRAVE CF debut this weekend, beat Grabinski via unanimous decision back in 2017. Since then, Grabinski has become a national hero and has transformed into the No. 1 fighter in Germany, racking up eight victories in his last nine bouts. Aside from a disqualification loss in 2020, Lutterbach was the last man to beat Grabinski.

In 2021, Grabinski signed with BRAVE CF, and has since earned two monumental wins, against Russia's Issa Isakov (8-2) and Moldova's Mihail Cotruta (14-2) that have left him on the cusp of a title shot against reigning the super lightweight world champion, Russia's Eldar Eldarov (13-1). But now, before him stands the one who has, and could once again, deter his championship run.

The Brazilian-born Lutterbach is as elite as they come. The Paraiba native has built an impressive curriculum vitae through his travels across the globe fighting in various countries including the United States, Poland, Russia, England, and his homeland, Brazil.

Lutterbach is a true veteran of combat sport with an incredible mixed martial arts record of 35-10. He is a global six-promotion multi-division MMA champion as well as a two-promotion K-1 champion. His list of accolades include Poland's Fight Exclusive Night lightweight title, Argentina's Misiones Fighting Championship welterweight title, and X-Force MMA's welterweight title.

The man known as "Peregrino" (which translates to Pilgrim – a very suitable nickname) is the proud owner of the World Kickboxing and Karate Union world title and made a huge impression at the Big Games in Germany.

He has enjoyed success in the Czech Rep's Fight Night West, Brazil's Haidar Capixaba Combat and Austria's Cage Fight Series. Luterbach is also something of a black-belt connoisseur having earned maximum honors in judo, luta livre and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

While Grabinski has built himself up to become the top fighter in Germany, he will be up against a formidable opponent in his return home for BRAVE CF, and the stakes have never been higher for Grabinski as the new main event for BRAVE CF 61 provides the Dusseldorf native with the chance to exact revenge against Lutterbach and earn a shot at becoming the No. 1 super lightweight in mixed martial arts today.

It will be a mouth-watering fight for the German fans, not only due to the history these two gentlemen share, but also because of the fact that they train in rival gyms, with Lutterbach coming from University of Fighting in Düsseldorf while Grabinski fights out of Pride Gym Düsseldorf.

What a storyline to usher us into the first-ever German BRAVE CF event. For more information
