Suarez: I’m the best wrestler at 115, Namajunas easier than Esparza

After UFC 228, the strawweight division could not be more intriguing. In addition to Jessica Andrade’s big win, hyper-prospect Tatiana Suarez put together a performance worthy of a title challenger. And while the two-time freestyle world championships bronze medalist recognizes that she might not get chosen next for a shot at the strap, she does think that current champ, Rose Namajunas would be easy work — maybe even too easy.

“Ha, no,” laughed Suarez on the Top Turtle MMA Podcast when asked if Rose could hang with her wrestling. “I think I’ll do the same thing I did to Esparza — I’ll do the same thing to Rose.”

Although Rose’s reach is different than her most recent opponent, Suarez thinks that’s all she has.

“It actually might be worse because Rose isn’t nearly as good of a wrestler as Esparza,” argued Suarez. “She’s longer, but that’s about it.”

After noting what Esparza did to Namajunas, Suarez doubled down on her claims – “I’m the best wrestler in the division.”
