Video: 'OKTAGON HYPE' episode 10, featuring Jakub Tichota and Jan Malach

The latest episode looks to this weekend's OKTAGON 37 in the Czech Republic and speaks to a couple of featured athletes.

It's OKTAGON 37 fight week, and there is no better way to get hyped for the event on Saturday night in Ostrava, Czech Republic than allowing host Bryan Lacey to talk you through the upcoming action on this week's episode.

The intriguing welterweight title main event is previewed when the longest reigning champion in OKTAGON MMA, David Kozma, looks to defend his belt for the sixth time against his most dangerous challenger to date, Kaik Brito, and the co-headliner for the vacant featherweight belt is also highlighted.

Former IMMAF gold medalist and top Czech prospect Jakub Tichota (5-0) is one man involved in the aforementioned showdown for the 145-pound championship this weekend. He joined the show to discuss his background in martial arts, working at Allstars Training Center in Sweden, and his thoughts on Mate Sanikidze. Significant quotes from the interview can be seen below.

Tichota: "Sanikidze is an orthodox fighter with long arms, and he has strong wrestling. That is his power skill, but I'm not afraid of it. I think and honestly believe I will dominate him in every aspect: standup, wrestling and grappling. I think I am the better fighter in all areas physically, mentally, conditioning and strength. too. I am going to prove it."

After recently hosting the OKTAGON MMA awards, fan favorite Jan Malach (14-12) talked about his upcoming bout with Matous Kohout at OKTAGON 38, gave his own preview of OKTAGON 37 and predicted how the Kincl vs. Vemola superfight would play out later this month. Significant quotes from the interview and the full episode can be viewed below.

Malach: "This fight with Kohout is a long time coming. As OKTAGON MMA fans know, we were supposed to fight at OKTAGON 16 in spring 2020. The event got canceled due to COVID restrictions, but now it's finally here. For those two-and-a-half years, I was patiently waiting and I knew it was going to come. I don't want to say I know 100 percent I'm going to be victorious because it's a fight and anything can happen, but I know 100 percent that I'm going to give everything to this preparation. Everything."
