Joe Lauzon and Diego Sanchez grapple troops in Iraq
The UFC has maintained a strong relationship with the military, having hosted several UFC: Fight for the Troops cards to entertain as well as help bring awareness to the men and women that serve our country.
In addition to these events, the UFC frequently arranges trips for its athletes to visit the troops at locations they are currently serving to do some training, hang out, sign autographs and more to give the troops a much-needed respite from their respective duties.
In this instance, UFC veterans Diego Sanchez, Joe Lauzon, Jake Ellenberger and Smilin’ Sam Alvey flew to an undisclosed part of Iraq to visit the troops in what would be an entertaining session of good ole grappling.
In the following clips from their respective Instagram accounts, we see both Diego and Joe giving the troops some time on the mats. While Diego has a nice friendly back and forth with his partner, Joe didn’t give his opponent much of a chance and proceeds to smother him from top position.
