Going into their fight at UFC 263, there was a lot of heat between Jamahal Hill and Paul Craig. They almost came to blows at the weigh-ins and the intensity between the two in the cage pre-fight was palpable. When it was all said and done, the “Bearjew” got the last laugh.

Paul Craig mangles Jamahal Hill’s arm to open PPV

The fight started out with a feeling out process before the two as “Sweet Dreams” pressured and backed Craig up. Eventually, the Scotland native pulled guard on his opponent. On the mat, despite the gap in ground skills, Hill seemed to defend well. At least at first.

After surviving a lock on his right arm, Craig used the same technique again, but when it was defended he transitioned the hold into an armbar that mangled his opponent’s limb. Yet the referee did not notice and stop the fight. Instead, the arm dangled as Craig switched to a head and arm triangle and battered Hill with punches. Eventually, the referee stopped the fight as the one-armed Hill could not defend the strikes.

It was another instance where the 33-year-old proved why he is a bonus winning star and submission ace at light heavyweight.
