Sijara Eubanks dominates Elise Reed at UFC Vegas 32
Banks was the biggest betting favorite on the card and showed why right away. In the early going she quickly went for the takedown and was able to get the 28-year-old to the mat. Controlling her foe for much of the first half of the round. Reed was able to get back to her feet eventually, but it wasn’t long before “Sarj” put her back on the mat. Even getting to full mount with over two minutes left.
Reed did her best to try and survive while enduring a wave of ground-and-pound damage. However, the barrage became too much, as Eubanks, 36, closed up her opponent’s right eye, and forced the referee to jump in and end the fight with 1:12 left in the first round.
In her return to the flyweight division, Eubanks looked outstanding in ending a two-fight losing streak. If she can make the weight, a major problem during her first run at 125-pounds, she can be a serious threat to women currently in the top-15.
For CFFC veteran Reed, she had a nightmarish start to her Octagon career in being handed her first career loss.Join the discussion on this topic...
