Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane

A battle to decide the best MMA heavyweight on the planet is finally here. Ngannou vs Gane will be a fascinating matchup of two athletically gifted big men who go about their destruction of foes in different ways. “The Predator” is arguably the pound-for-pound heaviest puncher in UFC history. “Bon Gamin” has shown an uncanny technical skillset for his size, which is backed by a legit thump as well. It is a battle of technique versus force, and seeing what wins out will be one of the biggest stories of 2022.

Prediction: Gane by TKO, round 4

Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo III

It may not have been the title defense everyone wanted, but the MMA world will get Moreno vs Figueiredo for a third straight — and maybe final — time. The first two bouts were memorable, but for different reasons. The first is universally viewed as the best UFC flyweight title fight in history. The rematch is the moment when Mexico got their first native-born UFC champion. What will these superstar 125-pound fighters have for us in the third go-around?

Prediction: Moreno by unanimous decision

Jared Cannonier vs Derek Brunson

While Adesanya and Whittaker fight to see who is the best middleweight of his generation, Cannonier and Brunson will decide who the winner is likely to get in their next defense as champion. While both “The Killa Gorilla” and Brunson are bordering on being MMA greybeards, both are aging to elite status like fine wine. Just like Whittaker worked to become the undisputed top contender, the victor of this clash will decide the NEXT undisputed challenger to the middleweight throne.

Prediction: Brunson by unanimous decision
