It has long been said that boxing is dead.  There is some truth to that and if it is not, in fact, dead, then it is definitely dying.  I challenge you to quickly and off the top of your head, name a single professional boxer you know. Go.

My guess is you drew a blank.  If you didn’t draw a blank you probably named a boxer that you KNOW OF.  Those don’t count.  If you do happen to know a professional boxer, as I do, my guess is that you only know a single one, like myself.  Furthermore, can you name a boxing gym? Not a martial arts facility or BJJ school or MMA school that teaches boxing but a boxing gym?

My point exactly.  So how can this issue of disinterest be addressed? Well, that, my friends, is an article in and of itself but we can start by introducing you to this man if you don’t already know him… Chris Eubank Jr.

Chris Eubank Jr. is a British professional boxer. He has held the WBA interim middleweight title since December 2019 and previously held the same title in 2015. He also held the IBO super-middleweight title twice between 2017 and December 2019 and at regional level the British middleweight title in 2016. He is the son of former two-weight world boxing champion Chris Eubank.

Guys like Chris Eubank Jr. make boxing exciting and worth watching and is just the type of fighter Americans need to watch to get excited about boxing again.

Just check out this video below where he throws an amazing 16 haymakers in under 10 seconds!
