Jean Claude Van Damme kicked in the head by overzealous fan
Jean Claude Van Damme is one of the most well known martial arts movie stars in the world. He is best known for his roles in action films like Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Universal Soldier, and many others. Though his hay day was in the eighties and nineties he still has some good moves for an older guy. His kicking ability is still very sharp.
In this YouTube video, we see a weird interaction between him and an overzealous fan at his one-man show – ‘An Evening with Jean Claude Van Damme – Unscripted and Unplugged.’
For some reason, this fan feels the need to request an exchange of kicks with the movie star. Jean Claude, not being one to shy away from a challenge, accepts this man’s strange request and they agree to each throw a kick at the other.
The overzealous fan, likely in an attempt to show off, throws it a little quicker than expected and connects to Van Damme’s head and knocks his hat sideways and the crowd reacts in a shocked sounding manner. Jean Claude plays it cool, however. “What you do is good but it doesn’t really hurt,” he says. He then goes over the proper way to kick someone and returns to favor with a quick snap kick to the fan’s midsection which makes some noise.
The crowd reacts favorably and it looks like that one hurt the guy much more than the headshot did.
Jean Claude then starts to use the goofy fan as a heavy bag and throws another body shot followed by a good low kick all while explaining how to maintain proper distance to the crowd.
They shake hands and hug when it’s over in a show of class by both men but Van Damme did a great job here maintaining his cool and looked good doing it.
