Pilot makes passenger pay for assaulting female flight attendant
An out of control passenger who assaulted a flight attendant got a rude awakening when the pilot of the aircraft took matters into his own hands.
The incident happened on-board an American Airlines flight from Kentucky to North Carolina.
The passenger, 36-year-old Michael Kerr, was reported to have been intoxicated after drinking Jack Daniels during the flight and began causing trouble by refusing to return to his seat while the airplane taxied towards the gate at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Eventually, the pilot became involved, but Kerr continued to act in a belligerent manner.
”Take a seat, sir,” the pilot is heard saying as another passenger films the unfolding drama on their mobile phone.
”I don’t wanna take a seat,” Kerr slurs in reply.
”I don’t care what you want to do, you’re going to take a seat right now,” the pilot responds firmly, but there’s no getting through to this troublemaker.
As the situation gets more heated, Kerr threatens to break the pilot’s jaw and then attempts to push his way past.
In doing so he shoves a female flight attendant out of his way, knocking her off her feet.
That infuriates the pilot and he springs into action immediately, neatly grabbing Kerr in a half-nelson and then decisively taking him down to the cabin floor.
“Enough!” the pilot shouts at the drunken lout as he secures his position on top. “You don’t put your hands on my flight attendant! Enough!”
In the end, the pilot and other crew members had to subdue Kerr for 15 minutes until police arrived, even resorting to tying him up with a seat belt due to the fact that he was still acting in an unruly manner.
Kerr was then arrested and has since been banned from flying while awaiting trial for assault and being drunk and disorderly.
He’s also believed to have lost his job as a chef after the video of his deplorable behavior went viral.
