Bas Rutten (or El Guapo) is nothing short of a mixed martial arts legend but with his overwhelming charisma you might not even know him for his devastating fighting career. His innovation in Pancrase with the use of palm strikes (or bone strikes) allowed him to become one of the greatest fighters of his era. So when the former UFC Heavyweight Champ says he has a new technique to show off, we tend to listen.

Sebastiaan “Bas” Rutten is a Dutch retired mixed martial artist, Karate and Taekwondo black belt, and Muay Thai kickboxer. He was a UFC Heavyweight Champion and Hall of Famer, a three-time King of Pancrase world champion, and finished his career on a 22 fight unbeaten streak (21 wins, 1 draw). He is currently the co-host of Inside MMA on AXS.TV. As a professional fighter, one of his favorite tactics was the liver shot (both punch and kick), and he popularized its use in MMA.
