In this video from YouTube channel Celebrity Sweat, we see none other than Evander Holyfield and Anderson Silva share their favorite combinations that they surely used to dispatch many of their foes in their primes.

Though these two fighting legends come from different sports, they both have achieved greatness in their careers and certainly have a lot of knowledge that can benefit martial artists of all levels.

Anderson Silva is widely regarded as the greatest MMA fighter of all time who’s devastating Muay Thai style attack overwhelmed most of his opponents. His favorite combination is quite simple though for someone who was so creative and unique in his prime. Then again, in martial arts it is the basic techniques that usually work the best.

His favorite combo is a double inside elbow strike. Anderson stresses the important of proper distance before moving in with the first elbow then following it up with the other one.

Evander Holyfield is the former multiple time heavyweight and cruiser weight champion in boxing and one of the all time greats as well. His favorite combination is a little more detailed.

It starts with the jab, which according to Evander, everything in boxing starts with. Once you get your opponent focused on the jab that’s when you go downstairs and drill the body with the left hook before coming upstairs with the left hook to the head.
