Generally the prospect of being choked unconscious wouldn’t be high on anyone’s list of priorities, but when it involves being cradled in the arms of mixed martial arts star turned Hollywood actress Gina Carano then the prospect suddenly becomes oddly appealing.
The lucky man donating his neck in the name of science here was John Brenkus, host of TV show ‘Sport Science’, who appeared to be having seconds thoughts about the whole thing as he paced nervously back and forth in the studio.

Don’t be scared, Carano chuckled, motioning for him to sit down with her on the mat.
It was an offer Brenkus couldn’t refuse and despite some weak protesting and the bizarre request, “don’t go fast,” Carano was soon getting down to business, sliding an arm underneath his chin, locking in the rear-naked choke and sending the TV host off to Sleepsville.
After a few seconds of nap time Brenkus lights switched back on, though he still had a glazed look in his eyes and apparently wasn’t altogether sure what had just happened.
Honestly, I remember you said ‘I’m going to choke you out, and that’s the last thing I remember,’ the bemused Brenkus admitted. I just didn’t even think that we had went yet.
Despite her submission skills, Carano originally began training in Muay Thai and eventually crossed over to mixed martial arts where she would become the face of woman’s MMA several years before Ronda Rousey, fighting in front of millions on CBS and NBC for the Elite XC and Strikeforce promotions, ompiling a 7-1 career record along the way.
She’s since moved on to pursue an acting career, appearing in the likes of ‘Haywire’ and ‘Fast & Furious 6’, with upcoming roles in ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Kickboxer: Vengeance’ set for release in 2016.
Now 33 years old, Carano has refused to rule out the possibility of one day fighting in the UFC, and indeed she was reported to be in talks to fight Ronda Rousey in 2014, though unfortunately the bout never materialized.
