UFC lightweight DonaldCerrone was recently faced with a “Have you stopped beating your wife?” scenario. “Cowboy” was scheduled to fight Bobby Green at UFC 178, but Green was replaced by the newly signed Eddie Alvarez. Green expressed frustration, and alleged that at a UFC Fan Expo Cerrone was the biggest a–hole he ever met, groping women in front of their partners, and making racist remarks.

Allegations of race and boorish behavior are difficult to contend with, as so much of the fanbase finds accusations compelling. Multiple witnesses refuted the account, and now in an interview with Sherdog, Cerrone did as well.

“That was two years ago, ya’ know? Why didn’t any of this come out?” asked Cerrone, as transcribed by Jesse Holland for MMAMania. “Why didn’t a fan file a lawsuit or say, ‘Yo, Cowboy is groping my wife,’ c’mon. Or racist comments … I have three black guys that live with me. So if I was racist, I couldn’t even let something like that … it’s just funny to me. Talk all you want. If the fans want to believe him, go ahead. If you take Bobby Green’s word, a guy who just wants to say dumb comments … I got nothing to say to the guy other than one day I’ll see you Bobby Green.”
