Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has a large, largely affable personality, but there is too an element to it that you might charitably characterize as serious. AJ & Antonio McKee have trained with him for a decade, and Champions.co recently caught up with the fighter-son duo and asked for a ‘Page story.

The elder McKee is the owner of BodyShop Fitness in Lakewood, California. Currently signed with WSoF, he has not fought since 2014.

“Rampage is Rampage,” said Antonio, as transcribed by Jared Jones. “I remember one time we were sparring, and [his partner] throws a spinning backfist that cuts Rampage’s eye open. It took four coaches to control Rampage.”

“Rampage literally threw this kid out of the Octagon, from the floor over the top. The kid took off and never came back to camp.”

AJ recalled a story from when he was about eight years old, and ‘Page got into a dispute with future Bellator MMA champion Emanuel Newton about who was the better wrestler.

“Rampage is sitting there screaming ‘Don’t make me mad, don’t make me mad!’ And next thing you know, they start going at it. I kid you not, Rampage just literally picked Emanuel up, head to toe powerbombed him and just knocked Emanuel’s tooth out.

“Everyone was sitting around just astonished, you know. Because everyone knows Rampage has that brute strength but we just don’t know where it comes from.”

The younger McKee has since grown in a notable MMA prospect. He went 7–1 as an amateur from 2012 to 2014. After turning pro in 2015, he is a perfect 6-0, all for Bellator MMA.

Rampage fights Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal at Bellator 175 on March 31. Lawal has been letting his social network do the trash talk, often using his Instagram to make unkind suggestions about Jackson’s size and conditioning.
