Former EliteXC Vice President Jared Shaw appeared on SRN Rewind on Sherdog. At an EliteXC event on October 4, 2008, with less than 24 hours before the main event versus Kimbo Slice, Ken Shamrock sustained a cut above his eye, and was unable to fight. EliteXC officials scrambled to find a last minute replacement. Ken’s foster brother Frank Shamrock, who was calling the fight for CBS – offered to step in at the last minute. On the interview, Shaw claimed Shamrock offered to fix the fight.

Jared Shaw: I kind of was going to hiold this one for a tell all … I don’t want to make any more money in MMA … I am very much into just good spirit and karma … There was never a fix that night… but there was an offer of a fix that night …

Jeff Sherwood: Really? Coming from who?

Jared Shaw: … *silence* … Should I get some police after this? … nah just kidding …

So Frank Shamrock pulled me in the back of a room, turned the music up, and offered to work the fight against Kimbo Slice. I almost threw up in my own stomach. Because I had thought for the past six months prior to that that him and Cung Le had fixed their own fight, unbeknowst to me again. Because I just can’t understand why Frank Shamrock didn’t go to the ground on Cung Le … I really don’t, I still don’t. Until he said that and then my stomach made me throw up in my own mouth … I’m like Frank, I don’t fix fights.

Frank Shamrock categorically denies the accusation:

“No, absolutely not,” Shamrock said Monday on The MMA Hour, when asked by host Ariel Helwani about Shaw’s claim. “That’s some movie b.s. right there.”

“It sounds like he’s trying to sell a book or something, or write a movie script,” said Shamrock before asking: “Where would I get the music at? What are you talking about here? Do I just carry a beatbox with me?”

Shamrock says he would have never “fiddled with the truth.” Fighting is for himself, his art and making money.

“Nothing else makes sense.”

Shamrock went on in a later interview:

The whole thing’s goofy. I can tell you what I probably honestly said is, ‘Don’t worry about it. I’ll make him look like a million bucks.’ But I would have never [offered to work the bout]. That’s just silly.
