Hexagone MMA has released its updated fight card for its forthcoming event at Reims Arena on June 17, Hexagone MMA 9, as the promotion continues to bring homegrown and international MMA to the French provinces.
Broadcast on DAZN in 150+ countries, the highly anticipated, world heavyweight championship bout between Prince Aounallah (16-11) and Paul-Emmanuel Gnaze (6-2) tops the bill.
Newly added is explosive French talent Mehdi Ben Lakhder (6-0-1), now matched against compatriot Kevin Pastran (7-1), following the injury withdrawal of Wanderson Barcelos.
Pastran boasts a 7-1 professional record with wins achieved by strikes, submissions and via the judges’ scorecards. He also holds an amateur record of 6-1-1, more than doubling his competitive cage experience.
Another addition to the card falls in the prelims, with a match between Martin Horsky (3-5) of the Czech Republic and Chresus Mokima (6-9) of France.
The event notably marks the home debut of Anthony Dizy (14-4), one of the best French fighters of his generation, against Peruvian Roger Garcia (8-4) in the lightweight category. Meanwhile, the women’s bout of the night sets Eva Dourthe (6-5) of France against Hexagone MMA newcomer Andressa Romero (6-2-1) of Brazil. Dourthe comes in on the back of a win over Stephanie Ielo Page at Hexagone MMA 6.
Alongside new faces, other athletes to have already graced the Hexagone MMA cage will return at Reims. Standouts include Matthieu Letho Duclos (4-2) famous first for refereeing amateur fights on the Youtube channel IbraTV, facing a challenging prospect in Spaniard Geison Santana Moreno (3-1). Ditto for Abu Tounkara (8-4) who will face English Cage Warriors veteran Tim Barnett (7-4-1) for a battle between two renowned finishers.
In usual form, Hexagone MMA will be celebrating regional talent. As well as Dizy, other local fighters on the card include Sofiane Aissaoui (9-5), fighting Peruvian Cristiano Estela Rios (17-7), and Alexis Fontes (4-2), against compatriot Kevin Del (4-6-1).
