Jake Paul showed up to his pre-fight press conference with Tyron Woodley shirtless and full of soundbites.

Paul (3-0) and Woodley (19-7-1 MMA) are set to compete in a 20 x 20 boxing ring in a Showtime pay-per-view main event that will mark the boxing debut of the former UFC welterweight champion, who is giving up two inches of reach and height.

Jake Paul has plans on sending Tyron Woodley into retirement

The Sunday night, Aug. 29 fight on Showtime PPV is Paul’s first fight since a technical knockout of former Bellator and ONE Championship 170-pound champion Ben Askren back in April. Paul said Thursday at the bouts final press conference, that he hasn’t shown his full boxing arsenal in the ring just yet. However, he expects to put it on full display against his 39-year-old foe and send “The Chosen One” into retirement.

“I’m sending him into retirement, turning him into a meme,” Paul said. “And people will see, oh my gosh, this kid can fight. He’s got skills. He can take a punch. That gas tank is nice. That inside fighting is nice. That bodywork is nice. That jab is nice. That 1-2 is nice. And then he came with an overhand right, that’s nice.

“People are going to be surprised. I haven’t shown sh*t. … This is my coming-out party.”

The press conference nearly turned into an all-out fracas when a member of Paul’s entourage engaged in a verbal jousting match with Woodley’s mother.

Fellow MMA fighters are not ruling out Woodley winning in his boxing debut.

Daniel Cormier recently said, “T-Wood is powerful. T-Wood is nasty. Tyron is fast, he’s tough and he’s got a killer right hand, that, if he lands, he’s gonna knock Jake Paul out.”

The bout takes place on Sunday night inside the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The event kicks off at 8 pm EST on Showtime PPV, for a cost of US $59.99.
