UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy, 35, has not fought since losing a highly controversial fight to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 on September 27, 2014. He said several times he was if not retired from mixed martial arts, at least tired of it, with little desire to fight again.

Now MMAFighting.com‘s Ariel Helwani reported Wednesday on UFC Tonight that Kennedy wants to fight Lyoto Machida, and is willing to liven things up by borrowing an old pro wrestling staple – the loser leaves town match.

Shaun Al-Shatti reports that Machida’s manager, Ed Soares, told Helwani that he loved the fight, and goaded Kennedy some, saying Machida did not want to be he one responsible for driving Kennedy out of the UFC.

Kennedy is now ranked #8 in the UFC, and Machida is at #4, following losing two out of three, to Luke Rockhold and champion Chris Weidman.
