The UFC has signed its second Chinese fighter “The Wild Wolf” Jumabieke Tuerxun:

From: Xinjiang Province

Age: 26

Height: 5’8″

Weight: Bantamweight (135 lbs)

Style: Sanda, Wrestling

Fighting out of: Xi’an

MMA Record: 27-0

Tuerxun is a former Legends FC champion, and fought most recently for RUFF. He did vie for the RUFF title with its $150,000 payday, as he did not want to sign a long-term contract. If he does well in the UFC, the decision will prove to have been a wise one.

Bieke combines pinpoint Sanda striking with powerful freestyle Wrestling. Ethnically a Kazakh, Tuerxun trains out of China’s elite Xian Physical Education University, under Zhao Xuejun, the Godfather of Chinese MMA.

He states his goal is “to one day have the whole world know my name – for China, for my homeland, and for my team and university.

The UFC’s first Chinese fighter, Tiequan “The Wolf” Zhang, joined the organization when the WEC was folded into the UFC.

Having the first two Chinese fighters both nicknamed “Wolf” neatly parallels the tradition in the west of having a lot of fighters nicknamed Pitbull 🙂
