Anderson Silva is inarguably the greatest fighter in UFC history. Tom Brady is arguably the greatest player in NFL history. In a sign of UFC president Dana White’s appreciation for football, in response to a question from TMZ Sports, he called The Spider the “Tom Brady of the UFC.”
“He’s come to a couple of events,” said White. “The nicest guy in the world. He takes the time to hang out and talk, really good to my kids. Bob Kraft too. Bob Kraft is one of the nicest guys, classiest guys you could ever meet. That whole organization is just an absolute class act. There’s just no better team to be a fan of. I just love it so much.”
“I think [Tom Brady] looks as good as he’s ever looked. Every year the guy just looks better and better and better. A lot of people are talking this is his last year. I seriously hope that that’s not the case. I think Brady looks as good as he’s ever looked, and I hope he sticks around for a few more years.”
White was asked who was the Tom Brady of the UFC.
He initially hesitated, and said, “There’s a lot of Tom Brady’s here. … If I had to pick on guy – who’s the Tom Brady? – it would have to be Anderson Silva. If you look at all Anderson Silva has accomplished and how long he’s been in the game, how he’s carried himself, I’d go with Anderson.”
White closed by revealing that Tom Brady was his man crush.
Brady is a fan of the sport, and bought some equity in the company when it was acquired by WME-IMG last year. In turn, many UFC fighters are fans of Brady.
