Russian Street Fight! – Wrestler vs Boxer!

Whenever you hear about a Russian fight, you know it’s going to be crazy. This one starts off with a great hip throw!

It looks like the wrestler also has some Judo experience. After the first throw, he holds his opponent down in a modified scarf hold (kesa gatame).

While in that position, he tries a few arm locks with his legs and then throws a few punches. The other guy tries to escape, exposing his back. The wrestler takes advantage of that and drives his opponent back to the ground.

When they hit the ground, the boxer goes for a arm lock of his own (Kimura – attacks the shoulder.) The wrestler manages to escape the submission attempt, and takes a mounted position.

The boxer escapes and gets to his feet. Then, the wrestler gets a back body lock on the boxer and pulls a beautiful suplex, dumping the boxer on his shoulders and head. The boxer gets right back up, though. A few seconds later, the boxer decides he’s had enough. I’m guessing the suplex is what did it. That must have hurt! Watch the action below.

Judo’s most prominent feature is its competitive element, where the objective is to either throw or takedown an opponent to the ground, immobilize or otherwise subdue an opponent with a pin, or force an opponent to submit with a joint lock or a choke.

Freestyle wrestling has its origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling and the prime victory condition in this style involves the wrestler winning by throwing and pinning his opponent on the mat.

Boxing is a martial art and combat sport in which two people throw punches at each other, usually with gloved hands. Historically, the goals have been to weaken and knock down the opponent. [source : wiki]
