Former Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight king Georges St. Pierre is arguably the greatest mixed martial artist to ever enter the ring or cage. Throughout his stellar career, St. Pierre suffered only two losses (one to Matt Hughes and one to Matt Serra) and avenged them both in grand fashion. He finished his fighting days with a six-year title reign and a twelve-fight winning streak that saw him dominate some of the best fighters in the UFC’s welterweight division. GSP’s winning ways had become such a matter of course that many MMA fans wondered what it would take to beat him. Then, after defeating power punching former NCAA wrestler Johny Hendricks in one of the most controversial decisions of all-time, St. Pierre left the sport mixed martial arts and rumors of his return have swirled ever since.

While GSP may or may not return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s octagon any time soon, he did find the time to pick a fight with Captain America in the blockbuster smash hit, Captain America: Winter Soldier.

Although St. Pierre was sometimes criticized throughout his career for playing it safe in fights, it’s fun to see him pull out all the stops and go full-on flashy while playing the role of the villainous Batroc the Leaper.

So if you are one of the many fans who always wanted nothing more than to see Georges St. Pierre battle a superhero in a cartoonishly grandiose choreographed scene that is free of nip-tuck jabs, takedowns and heavy top control, behold and enjoy!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger and the ninth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). A third film in the series, Captain America: Civil War is in post production.
