It seems as if here in the year 2016, it’s very nearly impossible to consume even the smallest tidbit of media without the topic of the impending presidential election rearing its ugly head. And no matter who you are, the world wants to know to whom you’ve decided to throw your support.
Of course depending on who you are, the world may be more or less concerned with which candidate will get your vote. If you’re Holly Holm, the reigning champion of the UFC Women’s Bantamweight division and the only fighter to topple the once seemingly invincible Ronda Rousey, you can surely leave it to TMZ to spring forth with such a question, just when you least expect it.
In the clip above, it all begins very similarly to any other set of questions a professional mixed martial artist can expect to hear from an interviewer. Holm is initially asked about whether she’ll be watching Rousey’s appearance hosting Saturday Night Live and whether she’s about whether she’ll be made fun of on the show. Holm seemed as if she’d been asked similar questions before and assured the interviewer that while she may watch the show if she happens to be home, she’s unconcerned with whether she’ll be mentioned or made fun of.
After that, in true TMZ fashion, they abruptly switch gears and ask the women’s bantamweight champ whether she would vote for Donald Trump. Holm seems momentarily stunned by the question, but she quickly collects her thoughts and gives what seems to be an honest, if not non-committal answer.
He seems to get stuff done, ya know?” she replied. “I don’t know who I’m gonna vote for yet, so I’m still thinking.
Like the rest of us, The Preacher’s Daughter still has plenty of time to decide.
