The UFC Vegas 38 weigh-ins took place today (Oct. 1) at 12 pm ET/9 am PT from inside the same venue as the event, the UFC APEX. And it was a rough day on the scales for three talents on the card.
Bethe Correia, Aspen Ladd, and Mike Breeden all missed weight for their bout tomorrow night. Both Correia and Breeden missed the non-title grace weight by two-and-a-half pounds. Ladd was a pound over the limit, but only after a first attempt where she was 5.5 pounds over. Because of the difficulty in her weight cut, her planned main card bout Macy Chiasson has been canceled.
Breeden and Correia’s bouts will go ahead as planned at a catchweight, and both will fork over 20% of their purse to opponents Alexander Hernandez and Karol Rosa, respectively.
The event is headlined by a clash of top-10 light heavyweights when one-time title challenger Thiago Santos (21-9) faces fellow Brazilian Johnny Walker (18-5) in a battle of heavy-hitting finishers. In the co-main event, fourteenth-ranked middleweight Kevin Holland (21-7) looks to end a two-fight losing streak against CFFC veteran Kyle Daukaus (10-2). All four men hit their marks on the scales.
On Saturday, UFC Vegas 38 kicks off with the preliminary portion of the card at 4 pm ET and is then followed by the main card at 7 pm ET. The event will air exclusively on ESPN+.
