Veteran UFC lightweight Alexander Hernandez did not need much time to smash through Mike Breeden to open up the UFC Vegas 38 main card.
“The Great” has alternated wins and losses over his last five fights, and he made it six on Saturday night against Breeden in just a minute and 20 seconds. Over the opening sixty seconds, it was obvious Hernandez was a level above the short-notice replacement. After a certain point, it felt like a wave was starting to overwhelm “Money” as the 29-year-old landed punch after punch.
Eventually, Hernandez landed a shot that hurt his opponent, and as he snipered away on him, he finally landed a strike that knocked Breeden down and out cold.

The victory was a strong bounce-back win for Hernandez after a competitive unanimous decision loss to Thiago Moises in February. The Texas native moves to 4-3 in the UFC.
For the 32-year-old Breeden, it is a rude awakening in his first opportunity in the Octagon. However, he will surely get another chance to turn his UFC fortunes around.
