You don’t want to anger Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva. His training partner in the following footage learnt that the hard way, and it got ugly real quick.

The scene opens up with both men landing leg kicks. Note that Silva doesn’t have headgear on; he in fact often trains that way. Silva’s training partner tries to corner ‘The Spider’ but the latter turns the tables quickly.

Silva throws punches but most are blocked by his opponent’s gloves. The danger with unleashing on someone is that you can get countered, and that’s exactly what happened to Silva. His training partner weathers the storm and comes back with a MONSTRUOUS right hand of his own that pops Silva’s head back.

‘The Spider’ is now angry.

Silva, probably suffering from a slightly bruised ego (and jaw!), doesn’t waste time and immediately comes back with a hard knee. He is now fast and elusive. He starts unleashing on his poor foe with a freaking ‘uppercut’ elbow, a big body kick and multiple jabs. The tables have now turned big time.

Props for Silva’s training partner for having been able to hang in there despite being outright battered by one of the best mixed martial artists of all time. And props to Silva for bouncing back from getting tagged and showing us all what he’s still capable of at 41 (!) years of age.
